King Of California (2007)

We're All Searching for Something ...

An unstable dad who after getting out of a mental institution tries to convince his daughter that there's Spanish gold buried somewhere under suburbia.

In LA, while escaping from the police after an unsuccessful robbery, the small time thief Harry Lockhart is accidentally submitted to an audition for a role of detective in a movie, and invited to a party. He meets a private eye Gay Perry, who suggests him to participate of an investigation to develop his character. He also meets the gorgeous aspirant actress Harmony Faith Lane, and finds that she was a friend of his childhood for whom he had a crush. Harry and Perry get involved in an intricate murder case with many leads. With the support of Harmony, they find the sordid truth of the case.

K-ville S01 Ep04 "No Good Deed"

Set in New Orleans, K-Ville is a gripping new police drama. Two years after the devistating hurricane Katrina, New Orleans is still in shambles and chaos continues to rule the streets. Criminals roam the city armed with AK-47s, many of the police force has left, and stations, jails, and labs still haven't been rebuilt. The few cops that remain must pool their courage and strength to help bring back law and order to the city they love.

The force includes Marlin Boulet (Anthony Anderson), a brash veteran of the Felony Action Squad who specializes in tracking down the most-wanted. His partner left after the storm, but Boulet stayed in the city and two years later is still won't he state to bend the rules in order to catch a criminal. Boulet's new partner, Trevor Cobb (Cole Hauser) is a veteran soldier who fought in Afghanistan prior to joining the . He's committed to his job, but has trouble adjusting to Boulet's method of doing things, mainly due to a dark secret Cobb is keeping.

Also on the force are hot-headed Billy "K9" Faust (Maximiliano Hernandez), who rarely thinks before he speaks; Jeff "Glue Boy" Gooden (Blake Shields), the resident comedian; Ginger "Love Tap" LeBeau (Tawny Cypress), the force's only female who is just as tough as any of the males; and Captain James Embry (John Carroll Lynch), whose personality blends humor and tenacity in order to keep his small crew together.

In one of the most intriguing series, K-Ville takes viewers inside the aftermath of Katrina, from the mangled Victorian mansions in the Garden District to the rubble that remains in the hard-hit Lower 9th Ward. In the harsh reality that Katrina left behind, the NOPD must deal with what comes their way as the future of the city they love hangs in the balance.

Boulet and Cobb learn secrets about a woman's past that lead them to her killer, a jealous ex who tried to make the death look like voodoo. As they investigate, parts of Cobb's past are also revealed.

Kung Fu Fighter (2007)

The supporting cast of Kung Fu Hustle returns in Kung Fu Fighter, in which Vanness Wu of JVKV (formerly known as F4) demonstrates some hardboiled action scenes. Lam Chi Chung, Tin Kai Man, Chan Kwok Kwan, and Bruce Leung, Stephen Chow's collaborators in Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle, join forces with famous action star Terry Fan Siu Wong and singer/actress Emme Wong, who recently appeared in Confession of Pain. While a sequel to the Kung Fu Hustle is yet to be produced, fans of the action comedy genre may wish to watch King Fu Fighter, which has a similar setting and just-as-stunning action sequences!

Ma (Vanness Wu) is a young man searching for his kung fu expert father in 1930s Shanghai. Inheriting his father's super strength, he secures a job at a martial arts house and befriends Fat (Lam Chi Chung). The two fall into a trap and the Shanghai triads want to hunt them down. Meanwhile, Ma also has a crush on singer Lung (Emme Wong), but will the love between them blossom? With so many different parties plotting against each other, will Ma survive all the conspiracies?

K-Ville S01 Ep02 "Cobb's Web"

A jailbreak thrusts the NOPD cops into a manhunt in which unconventional means leads Cobb and Boulet to the Louis Armstrong Airport. There, obstacles get in the way of their search and Cobb is tested. Meanwhile, Embry and Boulet deal with the frustration surrounding Criminal Sheriff Terrence DeVille.
